  2. README.TXT for STORMSAV Screen saver (Version 1.0)

  4. This the Stormsav Internet screen saver.  It is run when the PC is
  5. left idle for a period of time.  It is selected by using
  6. the Windows desktop accessed from the Control Panel.

  9. STORMSAV is an Internet screen saver.  Your Windows machine must
  10. be connected to the Internet and be running windows sockets for
  11. it to work.  If you can run Netscape, this screen saver should 
  12. work for you.

  15. This screen saver connects to an Internet weather provider to find
  16. out the five day forcast in a city selected by you.  It then 
  17. graphically displays rain, sunshine, and other weather patterns
  18. on the screen one forcast at a time.

  38. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
  39.  
  40. In order to run the STORMSAV screen saver you need to (1) copy it
  41. into the Windows directory, (2) tell Windows to use it, and (3) tell
  42. the screen saver the city in which you would like the weather 
  43. forcast.
  44.  
  45. (1) Copy the following files into the C:\WINDOWS directory on 
  46.     your hard disk:
  47.  
  48.     stormsav.sta
  49.     stormsav.cit
  50.     stormsav.scr
  51.  
  52. (2)   Next you need to tell Windows to run it. From the Control
  53.     Panel, double click on the Desktop Icon. When the Dialog box
  54.     appears,  select "Stormsav - weather" from the list of 
  55.     screen savers.   This is done by moving down to the screen 
  56.     saver section and clicking on the down arrow on the right 
  57.     side of the "Name" list box. Once the list appears move the 
  58.     cursor to "Stormsav - weather" and click on it.  The Setup 
  59.     button allows you to change options and add password protection.
  60.  
  61. (3) Specify the city in which you would like the weather forcast.
  62.  
  63.     Click on the Setup button in the Windows Desktop.
  64.  
  65.     a.  Select the State in which the city resides.
  66.     The city list will automatically update.
  67.  
  68.     b.  Select the specific city.
  69.     Many cities are not available, try to select a city
  70.      nearby.

  72.     c.  Move to next time period after XXX seconds 
  73.     allows you to specify how much time to spend on each
  74.     day's forcast
  75.  
  76.     d.  Recheck weather every XXX hours
  77.     allows you to specify how often STORMSAV should network
  78.     to the weather server.
